VISION

VISION

VISION
From the beginning our vision has been to create churches for people who don't like church. Our desire is to lead as many people as possible into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ, and we believe #ForStJohns allows us to reach more people in less time.

#ForStJohns is not about a building, it’s about creating irresistible environments that make it easy for you to invite your friends. This new location will be easy to reach from all over NE Florida, and the environments for kids, students, and adults will be custom-designed with our use (and our ratios) in mind.

In addition to funding the ongoing mission and ministry of Access Church over the next two years, our goal was to raise an additional $775,000 to make this next chapter of Access Church a reality.  It was an audacious goal, but as our attenders leaned into God’s strength and trusted in his provision, they committed $925,875 to this project.

The vision and mission are clear. The time is now. God is about to do something amazing in and through our church!

GIVE

One of the most tangible ways you can join us in this journey is to give financially to the #ForStJohns building campaign. Even though we have exceeded our initial goal, each additional gift will allow us to build bigger, better, and faster. There has never been a better time to make a bold gift to this campaign. You can submit your pledge below, or you can give now here: AccessChurch.com/give/onlinegiving

FAQs

FAQs

Why did we select St. Johns?

St. Johns was selected for several reasons. First, currently about 70% of our attenders are coming from St. Johns. Second, St. Johns County is the 11th fastest growing county in the United States. Third, the new highway infrastructure currently under construction is enabling the commute between the two counties to be even easier. We think building in St. Johns is the best way for us to connect the most people to Jesus.

Why did we decide to build versus buy?

In order to take advantage of the explosive growth in St. Johns, we looked at both buying an existing “big box” location and building from the ground up. We were not able to locate an existing building that meets our needs. Building our own facility is really the only option currently available in St. Johns.

What is the overall cost of the project?

The total project cost is estimated to be $2.5 million. This includes the cost of approximately seven acres of land and the construction of a 11,000-square-foot building. We need to raise $775,000 in commitments during this 27-month campaign. We need approximately 50% of this amount in cash by the end of December 2016 so that we can break ground as quickly as possible after the new year.

Is this building going to be big enough?

Our master plan is to have a 30,000-square-foot facility. If we raise enough funds, we will launch Phase II of this project in 2019 to add an additional 19,000 square feet of space. The initial 11,000 square feet will include space for Waumba Land, UpStreet, Student Ministry, and Adult Worship. Phase II increase space in all environments.

What are you asking me to do?

We are asking everyone who calls Access Church home to make a 26-month commitment. We will not be able to accomplish all that is in front of us without every single person committing to do whatever it takes to make this vision a reality. The danger is for some to think their amount is so small that it won’t make a difference. We believe God will take our collective efforts and use them to do more than we could even imagine.

What if I can’t afford to give right now?

Even in times of scarcity, God wants our hearts. The widow who gave her last mite did not make a very big financial contribution, but Jesus said she gave the largest gift of all. #ForStJohns is about all of us coming together, giving generously, and trusting God to do the rest. Trusting God with your finances is a very personal decision for everyone. We would not ask anyone to do something that we are not willing to do ourselves. Our staff and elders have already committed to this campaign, and we’d love for you to join us!

What if I’m in debt right now? Am I still supposed to give?

It’s important for generosity to be a part of every season of our lives. If you are in the process of paying off debt, we commend you, and you should continue to do so. But Jesus did not teach to withhold giving until we are debt-free. When we honor God first with giving, He promises to be involved with every other aspect of finances. If you are not actively paying off your debt, consider attending one of our Financial Peace classes.

What if I’ve never even given to Access before?

If you have never given to Access Church, there’s never been a better time to start than now! Start by choosing a percentage of your income to give back to God. The Bible seems to indicate 10%, but if that’s too intimidating, pick a lower percentage, and work your way up over time. Each time you’re paid, give that priority percentage to the ministry of Access Church. Then watch and see how God grows your faith!
